Stillman Kelly reaches out to his longtime friend Reuben, hoping he can help guide his daughter Dora, who dreams of being a singer. However, when she auditions in front of Reuben and the Partridge family, her singing falls short of expectations. Keith, who has developed a crush on her, is so enchanted by her looks that he overlooks her lack of talent. But when he listens to a recording of her performance, reality hits him hard. Now, he faces the daunting task of figuring out how to gently tell Dora the truth about her singing without breaking her heart.
