The Water Margin (1973)

Episode Overview

China faces a dire crisis as General Huang Lung is defeated and his army obliterated by the invading Mongol forces. In a bid to placate the Emperor, Kao Chiu quickly recalls General Hu from his political exile to take command of the military against the invaders. With a series of successful battles, General Hu pushes back the Mongols, earning Kao recognition for his choice. However, wary of Hu's growing power, Kao devises a sinister plan, sending Hu's son, Hu Yen-I, on a perilous mission against Liang Shan Po, believing that only General Hu can defeat his former subordinate, Lin Chung.
