Frédéric Saurel
Frédéric Saurel began his artistic journey as a college student when he auditioned for a play by Luigi Pirandello, landing his first acting role. He humorously labels himself a "poor student," excelling only in French and theater, which led him to repeat his second year before ultimately dedicating himself to drama. From 1984 to 1986, he honed his craft under the guidance of Alain Janey and Paulette Frantz.
At the age of 19, in 1986, Saurel gained admission to the prestigious National Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Paris, where he studied until 1988. His theatrical career took off with performances in productions like “Les dégoudis de la 11ème,” alongside renowned actors Robert Hirsch and Darry Cowl. After a significant hiatus, he returned to the stage in 2016 with a solo performance in “The Soliloquy of Grimm” by Bruno George.
In addition to theater, Saurel has appeared in over 30 films, including Nicolas Vanier's “Give Me Wings,” and has featured in nearly fifty television series and films, notably in Canal +’s “Baron Noir, Season 3.” Beyond acting, he is also a producer and director, having directed two feature films, including “Bâtards” for TPS/Pathé Vidéo, and produced around ten short films.
In 1989, Saurel founded S.P.A.C.E (European Artistic and Cinematographic Production Company) in Aveyron, focusing on producing independent short and feature films.
