Anthony Natale
Anthony Natale, born in 1967, faced unique challenges as a deaf child in a world where opportunities were limited. Growing up in Saint Catharines, Ontario, as a first-generation Italian-Canadian and the middle child of five, Natale was the only deaf member of his family. Despite this, he was known for his charm and humor, often lighting up the classroom as a class clown with aspirations that transcended his hearing impairment.
His passion for acting ignited after watching the 1978 musical comedy "Grease." At a time when closed captioning was nearly nonexistent, Natale ingeniously brought a pop-up book about the film to the theater, marking the moment he decided to pursue a career in acting, inspired by John Travolta.
Natale's academic journey began at the Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf in Ontario, followed by a transfer to a mainstream program for gifted students, where he graduated as valedictorian. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production with a minor in Theater Arts from California State University Northridge.
Now a respected figure in Deaf media, Natale has built a successful career across film, television, and theater. As a long-standing member of SAG and AFTRA for over 23 years, he currently resides in Los Angeles, enjoying the vibrant California lifestyle and engaging in various sports. Natale remains deeply appreciative of his family's unwavering support throughout his remarkable journey.
