Anthony Wong Chau-Sang (Chinese: 黃秋生), originally named Anthony Perry, was born on September 2, 1961. He is the son of a British father and a Chinese mother, but his father left the family when Wong was just four years old, leaving him to grow up without paternal influence. Wong's passion for acting led him to train at ATV before furthering his education at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

His breakthrough came with notable roles in films such as "Hard-Boiled," "When Fortune Smiles," and most importantly, his Golden Horse Award-winning performance in the chilling "The Untold Story," directed by Herman Yau. In 1995, Wong stepped behind the camera to make his directorial debut with "New Tenant."

The collaboration with Yau continued in 1996 with the cult classic horror film "Ebola Syndrome." Wong earned his second Hong Kong Film Award for his portrayal of the corrupt police officer Tung in the acclaimed "Beast Cops" (1998). His impressive filmography includes popular titles such as the "Young and Dangerous" series, "The Mission" (1999), "Infernal Affairs" (2002), "Initial D" (2005), "Exiled" (2006), "Secret" (2007), "Ip Man: The Final Fight" (2013), "Still Human" (2018), and "The Sunny Side of the Street" (2022). With nearly 300 credits to his name, Anthony Wong Chau-Sang stands as one of the most dynamic and prolific actors in international cinema.
