Barbara Shelley, born on February 13, 1932, was a prominent English actress celebrated for her work in film and television. Her career flourished in the late 1950s and throughout the 1960s, during which she emerged as Hammer Horror's leading female star. Notable films from this era include "Blood of the Vampire" (1958), "The Gorgon" (1964), "Dracula: Prince of Darkness" (1966), "Rasputin, the Mad Monk" (1966), and "Quatermass and the Pit" (1967).
