Tzeli Hadjidimitriou, a prominent filmmaker, visual artist, and writer, hails from the picturesque island of Lesbos, Greece. Renowned for her evocative photography, her work has been showcased in both solo and group exhibitions across multiple countries, including Australia, China, Italy, Turkey, and Greece. Her photographic contributions are also featured in several published works, such as "The Holy Water: Thermal Springs of Lesvos" (1996), "39 Cafes and a Barber Shop" (1997), and "Conversing with the Spirits of the Stone" (2009).

Her passion for cinema ignited during seminars with the acclaimed filmmaker Michelangelo Antonioni, while she pursued her photography studies in Rome. Since 1990, Hadjidimitriou has dedicated herself to capturing the essence of life on Lesbos through her films, photographs, and writings. In 2012, she published "A Girl's Guide to Lesbos," the first guidebook that explores the rich history of the island's lesbian community, particularly in Eresos, and its ties to the ancient poetess Sappho.

As a co-founder of the Athens-based organization AMKE "Anemos Nairatis," she advocates for projects that promote gender, sexuality, and cultural diversity through various artistic mediums. Her short films, which have garnered numerous awards, include "Looking for Orpheus" (2018) and gender-focused works like "Sappho's Granddaughters" (2018) and "Dimitrakis and Dimitroula" (2019). Her feature-length documentary, "Lesvia," marks another significant achievement in her illustrious career.
