Ken Gampu, born on August 28, 1929, in Germiston, South Africa, and who passed away on November 4, 2003, in Vosloorus, was a distinguished South African actor known for his impactful performances. Prior to embarking on his acting journey, Gampu held a variety of roles including that of a physical training instructor, salesman, interpreter, and police officer, showcasing his versatile skills.
His entry into the acting world was marked by his role in Athol Fugard's poignant play, No Good Friday, in 1958.
