Askari (2001)

Plot

In an African game reserve, Askari, a bitter old elephant, is the last of the "A" family, wiped out in a government cull. He has gone rogue, fueled by anger. The culling operation involves Patrick Khumalo, a corrupt official, and Ribshaw, a deceitful poacher, who has Ndhlovu, an aging African tracker, under duress. Meanwhile, game warden Joss McKinley and his conservationist wife Paula are desperate to protect the elephants. When Paula's teenage niece, Emma Crawshay, loses her parents and moves in with them at Morena Game Park, she initially feels out of place but eventually connects with her aunt's dedication and becomes fond of the 'O' group of elephants, especially a young calf named Ollie.
