Mohanlal Vishwanathan Nair, popularly known as Mohanlal, is a distinguished Indian actor, producer, and singer, celebrated for his remarkable versatility and natural performance style in Indian cinema. His acting journey began with the unreleased film *Thiranottam* in 1978, but it was his portrayal of the lead antagonist in the 1980 film *Manjil Virinja Pookkal* that marked his official debut.

Following his early roles as a villain, Mohanlal quickly transitioned to leading man status, showcasing his talent across genres, including drama, comedy, and action. His breakthrough came in 1986 with the blockbuster *Rajavinte Makan*, where he played a charismatic underworld figure, solidifying his status as a superstar in Malayalam cinema. In 1990, he ventured into film production with the acclaimed musical *His Highness Abdullah* and has since appeared in notable films in Tamil and Bollywood, including *Iruvar* and *Company*.

Mohanlal is widely regarded as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema and holds a special place in the cultural landscape of Kerala. In 2006, he was voted the most popular person in Kerala by CNN-IBN during the state's 50th anniversary celebrations.
