Mikael Persbrandt
Mikael Åke Persbrandt, born on September 25, 1963, is a prominent Swedish actor celebrated for his contributions to film and theater. He gained significant recognition in Sweden for his portrayal of Gunvald Larsson in the acclaimed Beck film series. Internationally, he is perhaps most famous for his leading role in the Oscar-winning film In a Better World, directed by Susanne Bier, which also garnered him a nomination for Best Actor at the 2011 European Film Awards.
Persbrandt's diverse body of work includes the character Carl Hamilton from Jan Guillou's novels and the role of Beorn in Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Hobbit. He also appears as Jakob Nyman in the popular Netflix series Sex Education. His theatrical endeavors include performances at the prestigious Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, alongside various film and television projects.
