Jean Topart (April 13, 1922 – December 29, 2012) was a distinguished French actor renowned for his iconic voice, which resonated throughout French television for many years. A prominent figure in voice acting, Topart lent his vocal talents to numerous television series and animated films, including notable dubbing for American and foreign cinema.

Born in Paris, Topart experienced personal loss when his sister, actress Lise Topart, tragically died in a plane accident in Nice on March 3, 1952. His career took off in the world of animation, where he gained recognition for his role in the acclaimed French science fiction film, *Fantastic Planet* (1973), directed by René Laloux. He is perhaps best remembered for his voice work in the 1981 series *Ulysses 31* and the 1982 classic *The Mysterious Cities of Gold*. Additionally, he narrated the 2000 series *Argai: The Prophecy*.

Topart also made significant contributions to the French versions of many foreign films, including Disney's *DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp* (1990) and *Treasure Planet* (2002), known in French as *La Planète au trésor, un nouvel univers*. His impressive filmography includes dubbing critically acclaimed films like *The Elephant Man* (1980) and *Amadeus* (1984).

Before his foray into film and television, Topart was a member of the Théâtre national populaire (TNP) from 1950 to 1960. His live-action performances included roles in *Angélique, Marquise des Anges* (1964) and Claude Chabrol's *Chicken with Vinegar* (1985). Topart’s final film appearance was in the 2000 comedy *Les Acteurs*, directed by Bertrand Blier.
