Jonathan Kimble Simmons, born on January 9, 1955, is a celebrated American actor recognized as one of the finest character actors of his generation. Since his acting career began in 1986, he has amassed a remarkable portfolio, featuring over 200 roles in both film and television. His extensive body of work has earned him prestigious accolades, including an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Critics’ Choice Award, among others.

In film, Simmons is perhaps best known for his portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002-2007). He has also delivered standout performances as B.R. in Thank You for Smoking (2005), Mac MacGuff in Juno (2007), and the intense music teacher Terence Fletcher in Whiplash (2014).
