Seiko Iwaido

Seiko Iwaido (岩井堂聖子, Iwaido Seikō), born on February 23, 1984, is a talented Japanese actress known for her diverse roles in film and television. Initially gaining recognition under the stage name Mai Takahashi, she embarked on her acting journey in 2004 with a notable role as Amano Sora in the TV Asahi series Sky High 2. Her cinematic debut followed in 2005, portraying Fumie Hayashida in the film Simsons.

Iwaido's career flourished as she collaborated with esteemed directors, including a memorable performance as Kawahime, the River Princess, in Takashi Miike's horror-fantasy film Yokai Daisenso, which was released in the United States in 2006 as The Great Yokai War. Her filmography also features significant roles in Sion Sono's Kimyo na Sakasu (Strange Circus) and Yoshihiro Nakamura's Busu (The Booth), both released in 2005, as well as Hitoshi Yazaki's Strawberry Shortcakes in 2006. In 2008, she showcased her versatility in the live-action adaptation of Pyū to Fuku! Jaguar.

In addition to her on-screen work, Iwaido lent her voice to characters such as Yuri Kishida and Ryuuko Tagawa in the video game Siren 2, and appeared as 'The girl in red' in the film adaptation of the same game. Alongside her acting endeavors, she has graced numerous magazines and published two photobooks, further establishing her presence in the entertainment industry.
