Adam Baldwin is a versatile actor whose career spans over four decades, beginning with his breakout role as the troubled teenager Ricky Linderman in the 1980 film My Bodyguard. Following this early success, he landed notable parts in a variety of films including D.C. Cab (1983), Full Metal Jacket (1987), Independence Day (1996), The Patriot (2000), and Serenity (2005), where he reprised his fan-favorite character, mercenary Jayne Cobb, from the cult classic television series Firefly. His extensive filmography also encompasses titles such as Radio Flyer (1992), The X-Files (as Knowle Rohrer), and the 2005 remake of The Poseidon Adventure.

In 2006, Baldwin starred as Chad Shelten in the ABC series Day Break and was recognized with a SyFy Genre Award for Best Supporting Actor in Television for his role in Firefly. He lent his voice to Clark Kent/Superman in the animated feature Superman: Doomsday and co-starred as NSA Agent John Casey in the NBC series Chuck, which debuted on September 24, 2007. Additionally, Baldwin has showcased his voice acting talents in popular video games like Halo 3 and Mass Effect 2.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Baldwin attended New Trier Township High School East. He is married to Ami and has three children.
