Rachel Griffiths

Rachel Anne Griffiths AM, born on December 18, 1968, is a distinguished Australian actress known for her impactful work in both film and television. Griffiths rose to fame with her breakthrough role in the 1994 film "Muriel's Wedding," and garnered an Academy Award nomination for her portrayal in "Hilary and Jackie" in 1998. She is perhaps most recognized for her compelling performances as Brenda Chenowith in HBO's critically acclaimed series "Six Feet Under" and Sarah Walker Laurent in ABC's popular drama "Brothers & Sisters." Her remarkable talent has earned her numerous accolades, including a Golden Globe Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three Australian Film Institute Awards.

Griffiths began her academic journey at Melbourne University, where she studied philosophy before transitioning to the drama department at Victoria College of the Arts.
