Wagner Moura
Wagner Maniçoba de Moura, born on June 27, 1976, is a prominent Brazilian actor, director, and musician, celebrated for his significant contributions to contemporary Brazilian cinema. He gained international fame for his portrayal of the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar in the acclaimed Netflix series Narcos, while he is also well-known in Brazil for his role as Captain Nascimento in the films Elite Squad and Elite Squad: The Enemy Within.
Moura began his artistic journey in theater in Salvador, collaborating with esteemed directors like Fernando Guerreiro and Celso Júnior. His film career took off in 2003 with standout performances in Deus é Brasileiro and O Caminho das Nuvens, as well as a crucial role in the film Carandiru, which marked his emergence as a leading figure in Brazilian cinema.
