Miklós Gábor
Miklós Gábor (April 7, 1919 – July 2, 1998) was a distinguished Hungarian actor renowned for his performances in the films "Valahol Európában" and "Mágnás Miska." He was married to Éva Ruttkai and later to Éva Vass.
Born in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary, Gábor pursued his passion for acting at the Academy of Drama, graduating in 1941. He began his professional journey with the Madách Theatre, later becoming a key member of the National Theatre from 1945 to 1954. His career continued to flourish as he transitioned to the Katona József Theatre in Kecskemét in 1975. Gábor further expanded his artistic endeavors at the Népszínház theatre from 1979 to 1984 before returning to the National Theatre, where he continued to leave an indelible mark. In 1991, he became part of the Független Színpad theatre, contributing significantly to Hungary's cultural landscape until his passing in Budapest on July 2, 1998.
Miklós Gábor is celebrated for his compelling and introspective performances, establishing himself as a significant figure in the Hungarian theatrical scene post-1950. In addition to his acting prowess, he ventured into directing in 1970. His contributions to the arts were recognized when he was awarded the prestigious Kossuth Prize in 1953, affirming his status as a pivotal figure in Hungarian theatre.
