Ivan Triesault
Ivan Triesault, originally named Johann Constantin Treisalt, was born on July 13, 1898 (O.S. July 1) in Reval, now known as Tallinn, Estonia. He hailed from a family with roots on the island of Hiiumaa.
Triesault made his stage debut at the age of 14 at the German Theatre in Tallinn. At 18, he relocated to the United States, where he continued to hone his craft in acting and dance. His early career included performances on Broadway, which paved the way for his transition to film.
Throughout his career, Triesault amassed an impressive filmography. He is best remembered for his roles in notable films such as "Cry of the Werewolf" (1944), "The Story of Dr. Wassell" (1944), "A Song to Remember" (1945), "Notorious" (1946), "5 Fingers" (1952), "Jet Pilot" (1957), "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (1959), "It Happened in Athens" (1962), "Von Ryan's Express" (1965), and appearances in the television series "Batman" (1966) and "The Wild Wild West."
Ivan Triesault passed away on January 3, 1980, in Los Angeles due to cardiac failure at the age of 81. His legacy endures through his memorable contributions to film and theater.
