Plot

Eminent psychiatrist Dr. Brenner hosts a banquet to honor war refugees, inviting cartoonist Bill Harrison and his wife, Jack. When Bill is asked to pick up fellow psychiatrist Dr. Baumler from the train station, he experiences an unsettling turn of events as Baumler disappears after stepping out to use a pay phone. During the dinner, Bill and Jack find themselves at the table with Brenner's daughter, Freda. To Bill's shock, another man is introduced as Baumler, only to collapse and die moments later, plunging the evening into chaos.
