Angela Lonsdale (née Smith; born on October 13, 1967) is a renowned English actress celebrated for her dynamic performances in both television and theater.

Lonsdale's journey into the world of acting began in her hometown, where she honed her craft at the Brewery Youth Theatre within the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal. Engaging in numerous amateur productions, she showcased her talent through works by local playwrights such as John Newman-Holden and Tim Bull. After facing initial setbacks, she graduated from the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, setting the stage for her professional career.

She gained widespread recognition for her role as police officer Emma Watts (née Taylor) on the iconic ITV soap opera Coronation Street, where she made her debut in April 2000. Her character was embroiled in memorable storylines, including a fierce rivalry with neighbor Les Battersby and a tumultuous marriage to Curly Watts, leading to her departure from Weatherfield in September 2003 following a job promotion.

Subsequently, Lonsdale took on the role of DI Eva Moore in the BBC daytime drama Doctors, leaving the series in October 2008 after her character was shot, though she made a brief return in September 2011.

From 2012 to 2013, she portrayed the matriarch of a wolf family in the children's series Wolfblood.
