Hailing from Rome, Amendola is the son of accomplished actors and voice dubbers, Ferruccio Amendola and Rita Savagnone. He launched his acting career in the 1980s, initially taking on comedic roles in various Italian comedies directed by Carlo Vanzina. His first foray into dramatic acting occurred in 1987 with his performance in Soldati - 365 all'alba, directed by Marco Risi.
