Plot

Serafina, Pulcinella, and Isabella are enchanting members of a 17th-century traveling theater troupe, captivating audiences and leaving hearts broken throughout the French countryside. Adapted from Théophile Gautier's 1863 novel "Le Capitaine Fracasse," this whimsical romantic comedy follows their adventures as they encounter the scruffy Baron de Sigognac at a castle. Infatuated with the melancholic Serafina, the Baron decides to join their journey. Meanwhile, Serafina mischievously encourages him to pursue the younger, recently widowed Isabella, complicating their relationships and leading to unexpected romantic entanglements.
