John James Anderson is an accomplished American actor and producer, widely recognized for his portrayal of Jeff Colby in the iconic prime-time soap operas Dynasty and its spin-off, The Colbys, during the 1980s.

His career in television began in the late 1970s with the soap opera Search for Tomorrow. In 1981, James secured his most notable role as Jeff Colby, debuting in Dynasty’s inaugural episode, “Oil,” and continuing until the series finale, “Catch 22,” in 1989. He reprised this character in The Colbys from 1985 to 1987 and made a return for the 1991 TV movie Dynasty: The Reunion. James received a Golden Globe nomination in 1985 for his work on Dynasty and attended the awards ceremony that year, where Edward James Olmos took home the award for Best Supporting Actor.

In 2003-04, James returned to daytime television as Rick Decker on As the World Turns. He joined the cast of All My Children in May 2006 as Dr. Jeff Martin, Erica Kane's first husband, and made another appearance on As the World Turns in July 2008 as the sinister Dr. Rick Decker.

James has also made his mark in film, appearing in projects like Icebreaker, The Cursed, and Lightning: Fire from the Sky, all directed by David Giancola. He produced and starred in Illegal Aliens and featured in Giancola's documentary Addicted to Fame in 2012. Currently, he is producing and acting in the sci-fi action adventure Axcellerator, which reunites him with co-star Maxwell Caulfield and features his daughter, Laura, in a supporting role.
