Plot
Tensions rise between the troops stationed at a tranquil army base and the locals of a nearby Southern community. Officer Brian Keith strives to maintain harmony, but his efforts are complicated by Ernest Borgnine, a bumbling sheriff eager to rally the local militia at a moment’s notice. Meanwhile, Tony Curtis portrays a womanizing sergeant whose reckless behavior lands him in hot water and ultimately behind bars. In a desperate attempt to bail out his friend, Brian Keith commandeers a tank, leading to a series of escalating and chaotic events.
