Diana Barrington
Diana Barrington is an accomplished British actress known for her extensive work in theatre. She honed her craft at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Barrington was married to Canadian actor Ken Pogue until his passing in 2015. Her professional journey began in 1957 at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, followed by her tenure with the York repertory company from 1961 to 1962.
In 1962, she showcased her talent in Alastair Dennett's play *Fit to Print*, performed with the Peter Haddon Company at the Wimbledon Theatre. The following year, she joined the Alexandra Repertory Company in Birmingham, appearing in notable works such as Derek Benfield's *Fish Out of Water*, Noël Coward's *Hay Fever*, Jean Anouilh's *Becket*, and W. Somerset Maugham's *The Constant Wife*. Barrington also graced the Royal Court Theatre stage in 1964 with Edgar Wallace's *On The Spot* and later performed in Elmer Blaney Harris's *Johnny Belinda* at the Theatre Royal in Bath.
Her versatility was further highlighted in 1971 when she portrayed Hippolyta/Titania in *A Midsummer Night's Dream* at the Neptune Theatre in Halifax. In 1978, she took on the role of Mary, Queen of Scots in Schiller's *Mary Stuart* and also played Fanny Wilton in Ibsen's *John Gabriel Borkman*. Barrington continued to impress audiences at the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1981 and starred in *The Elephant Man* at Theatre Calgary in 1982. Her performance in *The Top of His Head* garnered rave reviews from critic Jay Scott in 1989. Although she informed Equity of her decision to take a hiatus from acting before 1996, she has not returned to the stage as of 2005.
