Édouard Mathé (1886–1934) was a prominent French actor known for his significant contributions to silent cinema. Active between 1914 and 1924, he featured in approximately 51 films, showcasing his versatile acting skills. Mathé is particularly recognized for his collaborations with renowned director Louis Feuillade. Among his most notable works are the groundbreaking 1915 series "Les Vampires," the 1916 serial "Judex," and the films "Tih Minh" (1918) and "Parisette" (1921). His performances during this golden age of silent film left a lasting impact on the genre. Mathé's career, however, came to an untimely end when he passed away in Brussels in 1934.
