Plot
Jacques d'Athys, a daring French explorer, arrives back in Nice with a Eurasian fiancée and a seemingly innocuous book from his Indochina journey. Unbeknownst to him, this book hides a coded message that points to hidden treasures and sensitive state secrets. Soon, Jacques finds himself pursued by foreign spies, including a captivating Marquise of uncertain lineage, a Hindu hypnotist, and a sinister German doctor. Each will go to great lengths to seize the book and its invaluable secrets, putting both Jacques and his fiancée in grave danger.
