Jeremy Clyde

Jeremy Clyde was born in the quaint village of Dorney, located in Buckinghamshire, England. He hails from a distinguished lineage, being the son of Lady Elizabeth Wellesley and the great-great-great-grandson of Arthur Wellesley, the 1st Duke of Wellington. Moreover, he shares a familial connection with the current Duke of Wellington.

Clyde's early education took place at prestigious boarding institutions, including Ludgrove School and the renowned Eton College. He expanded his horizons with a year of study at the University of Grenoble in France, enhancing his cultural and linguistic skills. Ultimately, he pursued his passion for the performing arts at the Central School of Speech and Drama, part of the University of London, where he graduated with a focus on acting. It was during his time there in 1960 that he formed a significant musical partnership with Chad Stuart.

Clyde is best known as one half of the folk duo Chad & Jeremy, which emerged in the 1960s. The pair gained fame with hit songs like "Yesterday's Gone" and "A Summer Song," contributing to the British Invasion's musical landscape. Throughout his career, Clyde has also ventured into acting, appearing in various television series and stage productions, showcasing his versatility as both a musician and performer.
