Hilary Erhard Duff, born on September 28, 1987, is a multifaceted American actress, singer, and songwriter. Throughout her career, she has garnered numerous awards, including seven Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, four Teen Choice Awards, and two Young Artist Awards. Starting her acting journey at an early age, Duff rose to fame as a teen idol, notably for her portrayal of the titular character in the hit TV series Lizzie McGuire and its film adaptation, The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003).

Following her initial success, she starred in a variety of popular films, such as Cadet Kelly (2002), Agent Cody Banks (2003), Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), and A Cinderella Story (2004). As her career evolved, Duff took on more diverse roles in independent films, portraying characters such as a troubled pop star in War, Inc. (2008) and a rebellious teenager in According to Greta (2009).
