Xosha Roquemore
Xosha Kai Roquemore (pronounced /ˈzoʊʃə ˈroʊkmɔːr/ ZOH-shə ROHK-mor) was born on December 11, 1984, in Los Angeles, California. This talented American actress is widely recognized for her memorable performances, particularly as Jo Ann in the critically acclaimed film Precious and as Tamra in the popular television series The Mindy Project.
Xosha's passion for acting blossomed during her teenage years when she joined The Amazing Grace Conservatory in the ninth grade. After completing her high school education, she relocated to New York City, where she pursued her studies at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
Her breakthrough role came with Precious, where she portrayed Jo Ann, showcasing her remarkable acting abilities. In 2013, she received a recurring role on the sitcom Kirstie, although her character was later recast.
