Antonia Eugenia "Nia" Vardalos, born on September 24, 1962, is a talented Canadian-American actress, screenwriter, director, and producer. She gained widespread acclaim for her breakout role in the 2002 romantic comedy, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, a film she also penned, which earned her nominations for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.
