Mart Sander

Mart Sander, born on August 10, 1967, is a multifaceted talent from Estonia, excelling as a singer, actor, director, author, artist, and television presenter.

Sander's musical journey began early, as he honed his skills in violin and conducting. At the age of 18, he joined the choir of the Estonian National Opera, marking the start of his professional singing career. By 19, he gained national recognition when he and the swing band Modern Fox triumphed in a talent contest held in Moscow, which led to extensive touring across the Soviet Union and Europe.

Academically, Sander has built a solid foundation in the arts; he earned a Bachelor’s degree in musicology from Tallinn University, followed by a Master’s in film and television directing from the Baltic Film and Media School (BFM). He is currently pursuing a PhD at BFM while also teaching about film music semiotics. Additionally, Sander has enhanced his screenwriting skills at the London Film Academy.

His contributions to literature and media are recognized through his memberships in the Estonian Writers' Union and the Estonian Association of Audiovisual Authors. With a career that blends artistic performance and academic inquiry, Mart Sander continues to influence Estonia's cultural landscape.
