H.B. Halicki
Henry Blight Halicki, affectionately known as H.B. "Toby" Halicki, was an influential American filmmaker born on October 18, 1940. With a dynamic career spanning various roles, he was a director, writer, stunt driver, and actor who left an indelible mark on the action film genre. Halicki is best remembered for his groundbreaking 1974 film, Gone in 60 Seconds, which showcased his unique approach to filmmaking and car stunts.
Tragically, Halicki's life was cut short on August 20, 1989, when he lost his life in an accident while working on the sequel, Gone in 60 Seconds 2. In an effort to honor his legacy, his widow, Denice Shakarian Halicki, took the initiative to produce a remake of his iconic film in 2000, collaborating with renowned producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
