Diane Webber
Diane Webber, originally named Marguerite Diane Empey, was an accomplished model, actress, and dancer born in Los Angeles, California. From a young age, she trained in ballet under the guidance of the esteemed Russian dancer Maria Bekefi, eventually becoming a chorus girl in San Francisco during the early 1950s. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Webber gained prominence as a model for several men's magazines, captivating audiences with her stunning photographs taken by notable photographers such as Bunny Yeager, Peter Gowland, and filmmaker Russ Meyer. Under the name Marguerite Empey, she was honored as Playboy's Playmate of the Month twice, in May 1955 and February 1956, with the latter shoot directed by Meyer.
In the late 1950s, Webber transitioned into a sought-after model for LP record covers, working with celebrated artists like Nelson Riddle, Xavier Cugat, and Les Baxter. She also ventured into television and film, securing various supporting roles. By the mid to late 1960s, Webber embraced the nudist lifestyle, becoming a passionate advocate for it. Additionally, she was an adept belly dancer and taught the art professionally in Van Nuys, California, from 1969 until 1980. Diane Webber passed away on August 19, 2008, in Los Angeles, due to complications from cancer surgery, leaving behind a legacy rich in artistic contribution.
