Billy Jack serves four years for involuntary manslaughter, while the Freedom School, led by Jean Roberts, thrives with its eclectic mix of activities, including yoga and investigative journalism. Students passionately tackle political issues through a local TV station, but their progressive ideals clash with the narrow-minded townsfolk. Upon Billy's release, tensions escalate as the school faces threats and violence, with nearby Native Americans also suffering from harassment. After a transformative vision quest, Billy Jack confronts the governor and police, who scheme to silence the school's liberal spirit, forcing him to step in and protect his community.
