Rin Takanashi, a Japanese model and actress, was born in Funabashi City, located in Chiba Prefecture. Her journey in the entertainment industry began when she was discovered in Harajuku, leading her to participate in an audition for Fuji TV's variety program "Idol Road," where she was awarded the Grand Prix in 2005. Later that year, she became a member of the idol group Pink Jam Princess, which consisted of five members but had a brief existence before disbanding after releasing a single.

Takanashi's acting career took off with her role as Morino Yoru in the film adaptation of the novel "GOTH," released in 2008. She gained significant recognition in 2009 when she played Shiraishi Mako, also known as Shinken Pink, in the 33rd installment of the Super Sentai series, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. In 2012, she co-starred alongside Kase Ryo in "Like Someone in Love," earning the Best New Actress Award at the 27th Takasaki Film Festival for her performance.

She landed her first leading role in the TBS serial "Houkago Groove" and later featured in the NHK Asadora "Hanako to Anne" as Daigo Ayako, a friend of the main character. Since February 2017, Takanashi has been a regular model for the fashion magazine "andGIRL."

On January 20, 2018, she announced her engagement to Makino Tomoaki, a defender for Urawa Red Diamonds and the Japan national football team, via Instagram. The couple formalized their marriage on February 9, 2018, and celebrated their wedding reception on December 26, 2018. Takanashi is represented by STARDUST agency.
