Tom Hughes, born on April 18, 1985, is a prominent English actor recognized for his compelling performances across television and film. He gained particular acclaim for his portrayals of Jonty Millingden in ITV's *Trinity*, Chaz Jankel in the biopic *Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll*, Bruce Pearson in *Cemetery Junction*, and Nick Slade in the BBC legal drama *Silk*.

Raised in Upton-by-Chester, Cheshire, Hughes developed his passion for acting through the Liverpool Everyman Youth Theatre and later the Cheshire Youth Theatre and Jigsaw Music Theatre Company. He honed his craft at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting. Before fully committing to acting, he was also the guitarist for the indie band Quaintways.

Hughes embarked on his professional journey in 2009 with roles in *Casualty 1909* and *Trinity*. He made his cinematic debut in 2010, receiving a BIFA nomination for Most Promising Newcomer for his role in *Cemetery Junction*. His talent was recognized in 2011 when he was named one of BAFTA's 42 Brits to Watch.

He starred as Nick Slade in *Silk* and appeared alongside esteemed actors in *Page Eight*. Other highlights include his role in *The Hollow Crown*, leading the film *8 Minutes Idle*, and portraying Prince Albert in the ITV series *Victoria* from 2016 to 2019. He also featured in *Red Joan* with Judi Dench and played Christopher Marlowe in the second season of *A Discovery of Witches*.
