Judi Dench
Dame Judith Olivia "Judi" Dench, CH, DBE, FRSA, born on December 9, 1934, is a renowned English actress celebrated for her work in film, television, and theatre. Dench launched her professional career in 1957 with the Old Vic Company, quickly becoming prominent in Shakespearean roles, portraying characters like Ophelia in *Hamlet*, Juliet in *Romeo and Juliet*, and Lady Macbeth in *Macbeth*. Although she gained early recognition with a BAFTA Award for Most Promising Newcomer, her primary focus remained on the stage, where she garnered acclaim for her performance in the musical *Cabaret* in 1968.
Over the next twenty years, Dench solidified her reputation as one of Britain's foremost theatre talents, performing with both the National Theatre Company and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Her television career flourished with standout roles in *A Fine Romance* (1981-1984) and *As Time Goes By*, which began in 1992.
Dench's film career took off when she was cast as M in *GoldenEye* (1995), a role she reprised in subsequent James Bond films until *Skyfall* (2012).
