Zvee Scooler (December 1, 1899 – March 25, 1985) was a distinguished actor and radio commentator who made significant contributions to the performing arts in both Yiddish and English. Born in Kamenets-Podolsky, which is now part of Ukraine, Scooler enjoyed a vibrant career on stage, television, and in film.

He is perhaps most celebrated for his portrayal of Mordcha, the innkeeper, in the acclaimed Broadway production of "Fiddler on the Roof" and subsequently as the rabbi in the film adaptation. His cinematic repertoire includes a memorable performance as Duddy's grandfather in the 1974 classic "The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz," as well as a notable role as Boris’ father in Woody Allen's "Love and Death."

In addition to his acting career, Scooler gained recognition as the Grammeister on WEVD, a Yiddish radio station in New York City. He captivated audiences every Sunday with a ten-minute segment on the "Forward Hour," delivering news and commentary in a unique rhyming format.

Zvee Scooler passed away in New York City on March 25, 1985, leaving behind a legacy that celebrates his contributions to the arts and his ability to bridge cultural divides through his performances and broadcasting. He was 85 years old at the time of his death.
