Ben Kingsley

Sir Ben Kingsley, born Krishna Pandit Bhanji on December 31, 1943, is a distinguished English actor renowned for his remarkable contributions to film and theater over a career spanning fifty years. Celebrated for his artistic versatility, Kingsley has garnered numerous prestigious awards, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Grammy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards, alongside four Primetime Emmy nominations and two Laurence Olivier nominations. In recognition of his impact on the British film industry, he was knighted in 2002 and honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010, followed by the Britannia Award in 2013.

Kingsley, whose heritage includes an English mother and an Indian Gujarati father, kicked off his career in the theater, joining the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1967. For fifteen years, he captivated audiences with performances in classics such as As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing, Richard III, and Hamlet. His television work also stands out, earning him Emmy nominations for projects like Murderers Among Us and Anne Frank: The Whole Story.

On the silver screen, Kingsley is perhaps best remembered for his portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in Richard Attenborough's Gandhi (1982), which earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor. His other notable films include Schindler's List, Bugsy, and the acclaimed Marvel Cinematic Universe roles as Trevor Slattery in Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi. Kingsley also lent his voice to animated films such as The Boxtrolls and The Jungle Book, showcasing his diverse talents across genres.
