Brenda Currin
Brenda Currin is a distinguished actress renowned for her OBIE Award-winning performances. Her acting journey commenced with the role of Nancy Clutter in the film adaptation of Truman Capote's In Cold Blood. She gained further recognition for her portrayal of Pooh Percy in The World According to Garp, sharing the screen with Robin Williams. Her diverse filmography includes appearances in notable films such as Taps, Reds, and the cult favorite C.H.U.D.
Throughout her career, Brenda has made significant contributions to the New York theater scene, both on and Off Broadway. In 1990, she temporarily stepped away from theater to pursue a Master's degree in anthropology. Following her studies, she co-founded What Girls Know, a theater initiative aimed at promoting the healthy development of adolescent girls, which she directed for 15 years across New York City and beyond.
Since returning to the stage, Brenda has focused on the works of acclaimed playwrights such as Tennessee Williams, Jane Bowles, Harper Lee, and Horton Foote. Her recent credits in film and television include performances in Gossamer Folds, Out of Blue, and Claws. Currently, she resides in New Orleans, continuing her artistic journey.
