Ju Jeung-nyeo

Ju Jeung-nyeo (February 11, 1926 – 1980) was a prominent South Korean actress whose career flourished during the 1950s and 1960s. Over her remarkable career, she appeared in approximately 400 films, making her one of the most prolific actresses of her time. Ju was born in Yonghung, Hamkyongnam-do, now part of North Korea. Her passion for the performing arts developed while she was a student at Hamnam Girls' High School, where she became captivated by theater.

At the age of eighteen, Ju made a bold decision to leave her home and pursue her dream in acting by joining Gohyeop, a theater company. Her debut performance came in the play "Muyeongtap," where she portrayed a maid, showcasing her talent and laying the foundation for her future in cinema.

Throughout her illustrious career, Ju Jeung-nyeo became renowned for her versatility and emotional depth, earning her a beloved place in the hearts of audiences.
