Dolores Gray (June 7, 1924 – June 26, 2002) was a prominent American actress known for her captivating performances on both stage and screen. Born Dolores Stein in Chicago to Barbara Gray and Henry Stein, she briefly worked with MGM, featuring in films like *Kismet* (1955) and *It's Always Fair Weather* (1955).

Her musical career was noteworthy; she lent her voice to portray Marilyn Monroe's character in the Decca Records soundtrack for *There's No Business Like Show Business* (1954). However, Gray's legacy is most firmly rooted in the theater, where she dazzled audiences in productions such as *Two on the Aisle* (1951), *Carnival In Flanders* (1953), and *42nd Street* (1986). Notably, her performance in *Carnival In Flanders* earned her a Tony Award, making her the record-holder for the briefest run of any show that still garnered this prestigious honor, as it lasted only six performances.

Gray also starred in the lead role in the London production of *Annie Get Your Gun* in 1947. Despite her desire for a lasting record of her work, she often reflected on the ephemeral nature of live performances, expressing admiration for the permanence of film.

On September 24, 1966, she married Andrew J. Crevolin, a successful businessman and Thoroughbred racehorse owner, with whom she remained until his death in 1992, dispelling rumors of their divorce. Gray's contributions to theater and film have solidified her status as a celebrated figure in the performing arts.
