Marjorie White, originally named Marjorie Ann Guthrie, was born on July 22, 1904, in Canada and emerged as a notable actress in both stage and film during the early 20th century.

On August 20, 1935, she was involved in a serious car accident in Hollywood when the vehicle she was in collided with another car shortly after the couple inside had just celebrated their marriage. While others escaped with minor injuries, White suffered severe internal injuries that led to her passing the following day, on August 21, at a local hospital.
