Lorna Gray

Lorna Gray, born on July 26, 1917, and passing away on April 30, 2017, was an accomplished American actress celebrated for her comedic performances and later for her roles as a formidable villainess. Initially known as Virginia Pound during her early career, she adopted the stage name Lorna Gray in 1938, a name she retained until 1945. Gray made a significant mark in the entertainment industry through her work with Columbia Pictures, featuring prominently in their comedy shorts and serials, including notable titles like Flying G-Men, Pest from the West, and You Nazty Spy! with The Three Stooges.

After her tenure at Columbia, she transitioned to Monogram Pictures, collaborating with action star Frankie Darro. Gray's career highlights also include sharing the screen with John Wayne in Red River Range (1938) and taking on the lead role in the musical film O, My Darling Clementine (1943), alongside country music legend Roy Acuff.

In 1945, Gray moved to Republic Pictures, where she was recognized as a co-star in Westerns, a distinction shared with only Dale Evans. She appeared in the Republic serial featuring Captain America and later adopted the name Adrian Booth.
