Georgiana Young

Georgiana Young

1 title Acting Sep 20, 1923 Died: Nov 13, 2007 Los Angeles, California, USA

Georgiana Young, born Georgiana Belzer on September 30, 1923, in Los Angeles, California, was a talented actress whose career spanned several decades. She is best remembered for her roles in notable films such as "The Story of Alexander Graham Bell" (1939), "No, No, Nanette" (1940), and "Border Incident" (1949). Young's time in Hollywood included a three-year contract with the esteemed producer David O. Selznick, who recognized her potential. At just 14, she was screen-tested for the role of Suellen in the classic "Gone with the Wind," but lost the part to Evelyn Keyes due to her height, which exceeded that of the film's lead actress, Vivien Leigh.

Before stepping away from acting, Young also enjoyed a successful career as a professional model. Her personal life took a delightful turn when she met Ricardo Montalban through her sister, Sally Blane, and her brother-in-law, director Norman Foster. Montalban, who first encountered Young in a magazine while in Mexico, was captivated by her beauty and later found her to be his ideal partner on a blind date.

Together, Georgiana and Ricardo Montalban raised four children: sons Victor and Mark, and daughters Laura, a clothing designer, and Anita. Young was also the half-sister of well-known actresses Loretta Young, Sally Blane, and Polly Ann Young. She passed away on November 13, 2007, in Los Angeles, leaving behind a legacy in both film and family.
