Rose Portillo

Rose Portillo is a distinguished American actress, writer, director, educator, and visual artist known for her multifaceted contributions to the performing arts. She launched her career with a lead performance in Luis Valdez's iconic work, 'Zoot Suit,' which included notable appearances in both the original Los Angeles and Broadway productions, as well as the subsequent film adaptation. In 2017, she returned to the stage as Mother in a celebrated revival of the play, featuring Demián Bichir.

Portillo has significantly impacted the theater scene as the Associate Director of About Productions, an organization that has been dedicated to crafting original theatrical works for 24 years.
