June Clyde
June Clyde was an American actress, singer, and dancer born on December 2, 1909, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was related to the film industry through her aunt, actress Leona Hutton. Clyde's artistic journey commenced at the young age of seven when she performed on the vaudeville stage, earning the nickname "Baby Tetrazini," derived from her mother’s maiden name. By the age of ten, she made her film debut alongside Noah Beery, Sr. in "The Sea Wolf." As her voice matured, she transitioned to work with a stock company.
In 1932, Clyde was recognized as a WAMPAS Baby Star, which marked the beginning of her modest yet impactful career in Hollywood. She married film director Thornton Freeland, leading her to relocate to England in 1934. During her time there, she appeared in various British films and stage productions, while also making periodic returns to the United States for stage and film endeavors.
Clyde embraced her Mormon faith throughout her life and formed a close friendship with actress Dennie Moore, who affectionately referred to her as "The Loveliest Latter Day who ever lived." After a vibrant career spanning several decades, June Clyde passed away on October 1, 1987, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
