Umberto Orsini

Umberto Orsini, born on April 2, 1934, in Novara, Italy, is an esteemed actor known for his work in theater, television, and film.

Orsini initially pursued a career as a notary but decided to change paths, enrolling in the prestigious Accademia Nazionale di Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico. He gained recognition as a gifted stage performer in the late 1950s, and his collaboration with renowned director Luchino Visconti began in 1960 with the play L'Arialda. Following a series of minor roles, including a part in Federico Fellini's iconic film La Dolce Vita, Orsini made his leading debut in 1962 in Giuseppe Patroni Griffi's film Il mare. His remarkable performance in Visconti's 1969 film The Damned earned him the Nastro d'Argento award for Best Supporting Actor. Later, in 2008, he received a nomination for the David di Donatello award in the same category for his portrayal in Il mattino ha l'oro in bocca.
